The population of a small English village is taken hostage by Nazi’s dressed as English soldiers. Although the propaganda element is a little full-on, this is a compelling drama with some genuinely harrowing moments. A strong ensemble cast and featuring solid direction; it’s one of the strongest contemporary war pictures.
