A rocket crashes to earth. Two of the astronauts are missing and the third, a gibbering wreck. Simplified from the TV original into a more textbook shocker, but it’s sharply directed and Wordsworth is brilliant as the monster. Sadly other characters are dull and Donlevy just a mouth on legs.
