The Circus
August 11th 2011 21:20
(1928) Charlie Chaplin, Al Ernest Garcia, Merna Kennedy, Henry Bergman. Dir: Charlie Chaplin.
The tramp inadvertently becomes the star of a circus, but his love for the acrobat spoils his act. Oddly less well known than other Chaplin’s – it’s no less funny, and has some terrific Harold Lloyd style stunts. It’s also largely melodrama free, making it a nice surprise for Chaplin detractors.
