When Kirk realises Spock’s essence is within McCoy, he goes to retrieve his body for a proper funeral, but a surprise awaits him. Though the plot device for Spock’s rebirth was inconspicuously established in the last film, it inevitably seems contrived. It’s a fairly predictable adventure, but with dramatic highlights.
