A strange energy ribbon causes Kirk’s death. Years later Picard encounters the same phenomenon. Similar problem to Final Frontier, the concept of the Nexus is too silly. And it doesn’t bring the two Captain’s together quick enough, leaving themes established early on, left on the shelf through the long middle.
