(1924) Buster Keaton, Kathryne McGuire, Joe Keaton, Erwin Connelly, Ward Crane. Dir: Buster Keaton.
His relationship over, a projectionist and wannabee detective falls asleep and dreams about entering the movie. Perhaps the first film to really parody both the technical and aspirational facets of filmmaking. The dream sequence gives Keaton a wonderful opportunity to let his imagination hilariously run wild. A real classic.

Watch for the moment when the water pours down on Buster. It came down with such force it broke his neck, but he doesn't notice and still gets up to run away.
