Repulsion

(1965) Catherine Deneuve, Ian Hendry, John Fraser, Yvonne Furneaux. Dir: Roman Polanski
A frigid woman, both fascinated and disgusted by sex, has a murderous breakdown when left alone for a few days. Though a little too melodramatic in places, the use of space to represent Deneuve’s breakdown is quite startling, and she terrific as the women on the edge of madness.
