Rasputin, The Mad Monk
August 1st 2011 19:03
(1966) Christopher Lee, Barbara Shelley, Francis Matthews, Richard Pasco. Dir: Don Sharp.
A mystic seduces his way to a position of power over the Tsarina. Where’s the first act? Rasputin just shows up already a super-powered libertine lunatic, without motivations beyond consumption. A rather pointless run-around, but gives Lee a chance to go beserk, and that alone makes it worth a look.
