Nosferatu the Vampire
October 26th 2011 18:42
(1979) Klaus Kinski, Isabelle Adjani, Bruno Ganz, Roland Topor. Dir: Werner Herzog.
Dracula lures an estate agent to his castle, then travels to his town to devour his beloved. Nosferatu remake that owes more to Hammer than expressionism. A grotesque Kinski looks anachronistic and frail against lush sets, often with little to do. Has distinctive moments, but drags and the dialogue’s iffy.
