Les Maudits

October 1st 2010 23:44
(1947) Victor Alexandrov, René Clément, Jacques Companéez, Henri Jeanson. Dir: Rene Clement.
Review No.156

A village doctor is kidnapped by escaping Nazis in WW2s final days and held captive aboard their submarine. Excellent French thriller which grips from start to finish, thanks to its sharply scripted cast of seedy characters and its striking and claustrophobic photography. Deserves to be more widely known.

I'm afraid there doesn't seem to be a trailer for this one online. The best I could find is this clip here, which only has subtitles in French and largely isn't one the best sequences anyway....
