Les Enfants Terribles
May 2nd 2011 00:05
(1950) Nicole Stéphane, Edouard Dermit, Renée Cosima, Jacques Bernard. Dir: Jean-Pierre Melville.
A brother and sister with an very close bond struggle to adjust to life outside their confining home. A deeply unsettling look at a very unhealthy relationship. It has a dark fairy-tale like quality, enhanced by some terrific, claustrophobic sets and strong performance from Stephane. Narration probably wasn’t necessary though.
