Isle of the Dead

November 18th 2010 22:16
(1945) Boris Karloff, Ellen Drew, Ernst Deutsch, Marc Cramer. Dir: Mark Robson.
Review No.189

A General, trapped with civilians on a quarantined island, begins to suspect the plague is not the only threat. Intriguing spooky thriller that sadly doesn’t really give Karloff enough screen time to show his character’s mental disintegration. Nevertheless, it boasts an intelligent, and bleak script and some genuinely spooky sequences.
