Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (1941)
February 16th 2011 19:23
Spencer Tracy, Ingmar Bergman, Lana Turner, Donald Crisp. Dir: Victor Fleming
Believing that a man’s good and bad side can be separated, a doctor transforms himself into a monster. A remake of the 1931 film which suffers badly comparison. The direction lacks flair, and Tracy is unexpectedly stiff. But it’s still very competent, and Bergman is superb as the local tart.
