Corridor of Mirrors

May 10th 2011 21:33
(1948) Eric Portman, Edana Romney, Barbara Mullen, Edward Sinclair. Dir: Terence Young.
Review No.307

A woman is intrigued by a gentleman obsessed with the old world, and a renaissance portrait. An unjustly obscure gothic melodrama mounted on the grand scale. It’s silly, but played with gusto; it’s a shame about the mystery framing device, which has a different tone and feels like an afterthought.
