I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry

This movie is SO stupid I feel like writing director Dennis Dugan myself and demanding my piddly $8.00 back! What a waste of what could have been a comical story.
Kevin James is Larry, a New York firefighter trying to support his two children after his wife has passed away. Adam Sandler portrays Chuck, a prideful user of women with a mouth on him that would make you want to slap your momma. After some research, Larry discovers that he can support his children if he has a life partner. Chuck owes Larry a favor, and agrees to the scheme.
The city promptly sends out a “gay inspector” played by obsessive compulsive Steve
Buscemi. The guys quickly hire an attorney who just happens to be underwear model Jessica Biel, who has no problem stripping down to her skivvies offering Chuck a feel. Do attorneys actually do this with their clients? Hm…let me think……..
What humor is seen is meant to be structured about the phobias of Chuck and Larry to maintain the claims that they are gay. The jokes are overused and cliché. It is so ridiculous. Remember grammar school and the jokes people would say? Imagine those same insufferable jokes for two hours.
The only part of the movie that made me actually laugh was seeing Ving Rhames sing in the shower. That is it.
There is a string of cameos in the movie that was interesting to see. Let’s see. Rob Schneider is an Asian minister who married Chuck and Larry in Canada of all places. David Spade has a cameo that is over the top, Dave Matthews (yes from the Dave Matthews band) horrified me with his cameo. Guess I’m just not used to seeing him in that mode.
The only message that I can see is that “gayness” isn’t to be feared. But I ask you, when the lifestyle is accepted in our nation, how are we fearing it? And then Sandler gives a big speech at the end saying he won’t say the word “faggot” anymore because it’s not nice…was there supposed to be emotion with that? Or did he just read his lines off of a cue card?
I was very let down with this movie (if you can’t tell). I was expecting to be entertained, not disturbed. And it wasn’t the premise of the movie that disturbed me. It was the fact that this movie was supposed to be funny. How it made it past the rushes I will never know. Guess the studio figured Sandler could draw in the big bucks. While I think he and James both are very talented, nothing can help a weak script. Take it from me…if you want to see this movie, rent it on DVD.
I give this movie one star out of five. Parents, screen this one first before letting your little ones see it. The humor may make you change your mind.

It was without a doubt one of the stupidest movies of all times. I felt like it was disrespectful to straight as well as gays alike. The jokes were really tired. I also wanted to get my money back. Great review!
