Bedlam
November 10th 2010 23:37
(1946) Boris Karloff, Anna Lee, Billy House, Richard Fraser. Dir: Mark Robson.
An influential woman disrupts the social progress of the head of Bedlam, so he has her committed. For once, the Lewton less is more doctrine doesn’t work. The story is principally strong, but it lacks drama and the unwillingness to explore the horrors, or the characters of Bedlam, keeps it too sobre.
