What is not to love about this movie before going in. I am an avid basketball player and huge fan of Will Ferrell.

This film was directed by Kent Alterman who has executive produced numerous movies, none in recent memory of any significance. He has been blasted by fans, especially in any forums I've seen, for his below average efforts. One of his current efforts as a producer is 'High T' who stars Steve Carell, written by George Wing who wrote 50 first dates.

This movie leaves a lot to be desired as for comedic timing and just material. I found myself trying to look for the funny parts as this one was stale and at times boorish.

Written by Scot Armstrong, I was expecting a barrage of quotable lines as in Road trip and Old School. But am not sure what went wrong. Was it the material or editing or lack of a direction?

I cannot consciously recommend this one, I just had to see it. But am not better for it. They do have some good actors in Harrelson and Andre Benjamin, but don't have enough to work with in this one.

So all I can offer in this review is to look forward to some redemption for Armstrong in 2009 with the sequel in 'Old School Dos'.
