Definitely, Maybe

Definitely, Maybe
This film was directed and written by Adam Brooks who also is responsible for writing most notably in my mind Practical Magic way back in 1998. He is of Canadian descent coming from Toronto, Ontario. So the match up of him and fellow CAN Ryan Reynolds was a no-brainer.

This movie is about a political consultant who has an adolescent daughter who is very curious of his past. He has the idea to give her all she could want and more by telling her every little detail of his previous girlfriends.
At first I couldn't believe he was telling her all these things but with what she was learning at school, it would be better coming from him, I guess.

A movie like this sadly makes me realize that Reynolds can shine, but in more action-packed roles. He does have the comedies in him ie. (Waiting) but the romantic side tends to drag on and bog down the enjoyment as in " Just Friends".

This is an interesting journey about life, love and one's past. Even making you look at your past life and who may crop up in the future.

Have you had a lost love? Would you have the guts to put yourself on the line for a chance at a happy ending, no regrets?

This movie asks questions if you listen and that is why Ryan Reynolds took this script I am sure, you cannot tell what the end will be, which is a great thing.

Look for a posting for a Top Choice actress in Annie Parisse, who sparkles in these small but noticeable parts.

The Bucket List

The Bucket List
The Bucket List is a touching, heartwarming story, that places two men from opposite sides of the track, together. One is a mechanic with a great knowledge of history and the rich life (Morgan Freeman) and the other (Jack Nicholson) has the importance and rich portfolio.

Together they embark on a last journey, where they try to experience things together, fun and exciting that will change their outlooks on their current lives.

This movie may be completely improvised as, a lot of lines are from these great actors pasts. This is the first time Freeman and Nicholson have done a movie together, I am sure.

Directed by Rob Reiner who has done numerous other topflight movies such as Sleepless in Seattle, Throw Momma from the Train and Alex & Emma. This film was written by Justin Zackman who had Morgan Freeman in mind for the character of Carter from the get go.

I definitely recommend this movie, though the "critics" have not embraced this tale. This is an inside look into the end of life experience from two different outlooks. It may drag in parts and not have much to it, but with these two stars carrying the film it comes off as an above average movie with a story to tell and some history if you listen.

Up next for my Top Choice movie will be "Juno".
